Deep Fried Fish
The third and the final fish recipe for the food blog event is deep fried fish. It is an easy recipe. Just marinate the fish, cover with batter, and fry.

I took the batter recipe from The Best Ever Indian Recipes. Although they gave the marinating recipe in the book, I used my regular.
Ingredients:
1 lb white fish (approximately 8 pieces)
Batter
generous 1/2 cup flour
2 tbsp cornmeal
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground curcumin
1/2 cup water
1. Put the fish in a large, shallow dish and cover with vinegar - water mixture. Cover the dish with a plastic film and set aside for half an hour.
2. Sift together the flour, cornmeal, chili powder, and curcumin into a large bowl. Gradually stir in the water to make a smooth batter. Cover and let rest for half an hour.
3. Wash the fish pieces, and drain them.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-fat fryer or large, heavy bottom pan until a cube of bread browns in 30 seconds.
5. Put the fish pieces in the batter and keep them in the batter for about 5 minutes.
6. Drain the excess batter, and put to the hot oil and deep-fry for 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Keep warm while you cook the remaining pieces of fish.
Serve immediately, garnished with lime wedges.
